Levante

Los Granotes are maintaining a four-week record without a win as they held Real Valladolid in a draw 1-1 at the Estadio Municipal José Zorrilla last week. The outcome, however, was rather frustrating than rewarding since the side are in dire need of more points to push themselves further into (at least) the top seven for the chance to participate in the Europa League.

Currently at number nine, Joaquín Caparrós’ troupe have already accumulated 33 points from 25 fixtures. Of the top 10 contenders, they are the first of the only two clubs (the other being Espanyol) to score a negative goal difference (-7) after they earned 24 goals and conceded 31.

Osasuna

Underestimating the underdogs could backfire to those who do it. If there will be poll of the clubs who are considered best when it comes to pulling off shocks, Osasuna would come on top. The former relegation candidates and now top 12 players have again astonished spectators as they won against title chasers Atletico Madrid. The surprising result gets even better: the triumph was not an ordinary one, it was a clean sheet!

The top-caliber performances from Cejudo, Armenteros, and Torres have yielded a 3-0 result against the Madrid side, boosting the morale of Los Rojillos while inflicting a major blow (not to mention, an embarrassment) to their opponents. The victory would be Javi Gracia’s (and the side’s overall) eighth league success since he became the man at the helm in September last year. The trend is looking very positive for the squad, and they are off to an even better run in their upcoming fixtures.

Football betting tip: While they may be ranked three spots below Levante, Osasuna have a good chance at creating a trilling performance against their hosts. However, after the enrgy-exhausting battle they had against Atletico, the side may lie low a little and drop two points to draw with the home team.
