Getafe

Weighed down by a shortage of goal-scoring opportunities, Getafe failed to hold Rayo Vallecano in a draw—leading their most recent tourney to be their 10th defeat this season. Getafe had the upper hand at the start of the fixture, with Pablo Sarabia and Sergio Escudero having early half-chances, while Rayo struggled to get out of their own half. But 16 minutes into break time, Rayo’s Alberto Bueno volleyed the first goal in the match (and later, the only), giving the visitors the lead. The rest of the tourney turned out unimpressive, with only a few scoring chances created with none being converted. As a result, the match finished in a 0-1 win for Rayo. Despite the victory, however, the visitors were still unable to loom above the relegation zone.

Getafe have been struggling for the past several weeks, failing to deliver at least one goal in their last three matches and succumbing to their opponents in their last four fixtures (in all competitions). As a consequence, they have consistently been sliding down in La Liga’s club rankings.

Real Sociedad

Currently among the strongest sides in the league, Real Sociedad is mustering a string of successes in their recent matches. The squad are currently ranked in La Liga’s higher reaches and are seen to have a good shot at reaching the top four.

Real Sociedad are a powerhouse when it comes to coming back from losing positions, evidently seen in their impressive retaliations following their defeats from Rayo Vallecano and Real Madrid in the Spanish top-tier league. They are also excellent at creating and finishing scoring chances, firing counter attacks, and defending set pieces.

Football betting tip: Getafe’s growing dilemma in the pitch could be an advantage for the in-form Real Sociedad. A home win for the former is hard to achieve especially when the latter are roaring wild to bag an away victory.
