Elche week 3

Except for a few notable ranking changes, the third week of fixtures in Spain’s top-flight football have been relatively the same as with the earlier week. Barcelona and Valencia remain as the top title contenders while Levante are still marooned at the foot of the league table.

Only two home victories were recorded in the past week, which were earned by Valencia and Sevilla. More sides were better off when traveling to other stadia as three of the top-flight squads bagged triumphs away from their own ground. Atletico Madrid, Elche, and Deportivo all succeeded in their respective outings. Menawhile, three fixtures resulted in deadlocks namely, Malaga-vs-Levante, Celta-vs-Real Sociedad, and Grenada-vs-Villarreal.

Of all the 10 matches, Valencia and Elche scored the most goals with three (each) which were netted by Pablo Piatti, Dani Parejo, and Paco Alcacer for Los Che as well as Edu Albacar, Jonathas, and Pedro Mosquera for Los Franjiverdes. Six sides did not score even just a single goal, although four of them—Granada, Villarreal, Malaga, and Levante—still managed to obtain one point by drawing with their rivals.

The current rankings position football betting favorites Barcelona, as mentioned, at the summit of the rankings for a second straight week. They are followed by Valencia, Sevilla, and Atletico Madrid. Celta Vigo round uo the top five. In the middle of the tally are Granada, Real Sociedad, Villarreal, Deportivo, Elche, Malaga, Athletic Bilbao, Real Madrid, Eibar, and Getefe. At the bottom five are Rayo, Almeria, and the relegation candidates Cordoba, Espanyol, and Levante.
