Espanyol opened the scoring against Malaga through a Felipe Caicedo effort and held their rivals at bay for the remainder of the first half. The second half displayed more action and by the 53rd minute, Malaga finally found the equalizer to their opponent’s first goal. Late in the meeting, Christian Stuani gained back the lead to the Periquitos and looked to bag their very first win of the season until Duda pulled off a leveler on stoppage time. It was a very frustrating match for Espanyol who spent the third week of La Liga fixtures in the relegation zone. Getafe, meanwhile, have made it one wins and two defeats in three appearances at the Spanish top-tier league. Their most recent face-off saw them concede two goals to Sevilla while scoring zero. A major dilemma in the defense needs to be addressed and their ability to display spectacles in the air seems dwindling.

Online betting tip: Espanyol will bag their first win of the season from Getafe.

Valencia vs. Cordoba

Match Date: 26 September 2014 (local)

Match Venue: Estadio Santiago Bernabeu

Valencia and Cordoba have never met in recent years as the sides have played in separate league in the past seasons, making this battle quite interesting. Form-wise, however, Valencia are apparently the better dogs. While they place high within the top half of the league table, Cordoba are marooned deeply in the relegation zone. Los Che are extremely good at finishing scoring chances as well as countering attacks by their opponents. Cordoba, on the hand, have only shown slight strength in protecting the lead but with no reliable weaponry to keep the ball in their possession, defend set pieces, and veer away from errors.

Football betting tip: Valencia will give Cordoba a run for their money. A clean sheet from the hosts is possible from this meeting.
