With Villarreal losing proper sight of their defense, Rayo Vallecano powered themselves two goals ahead of the competition. However, their rivals rapidly recovered by the second half, which saw Los Franjirrojos concede four goals and turn the results against their favor. This caused them to slide one step downward in the league table and placed themselves just a hairline away from the relegation zone. Athletic Bilbao, meanwhile, incurred their third defeat of the season following a clean sheet rout by Granada at San Mames. The defenses and goalkeeping of both squads were quite commendable except that Granada managed to put their attack a notch higher than their foes when Jhon Cordoba’s first-half goal proved decisive of the match’s result.

Sports betting tip: Athletic Bilbao will go back to their winning ways when they meet up with Rayo in the coming days.

Malaga vs. Barcelona

Dominating the entire race for three weeks in a row, Barcelona will prove to be gigantic challenge for Malaga. The former have won every single game in La Liga since the season opened while the latter have only earned three points once and spent the rest of their streak either sharing the spoils with their rivals or totally conceding all of those to them. In their most recent matches, Malaga scored twice but were held in a draw by Espanyol. Barcelona, meanwhile, trounced Levante on an impressive 0-5 away result—not to mention that they also won against APOEL 1-0 in the Champions League just a few days earlier.
