Recap

A strong AC Milan debuted into the first week of Serie A. After a dismal performance, which prevented them from joining either the Champions League or Europa League, the online betting favorite is back to its winning ways. This is despite the exit of controversial striker, Mario Balotelli.

Also making an impression is the newly-promoted Cesena. The squad stole the limelight from Parma when Alejandro Rodriguez nailed a shot on the 38th.

The defending champion, Juventus and title contenders such as Roma and Napoli are also included in Serie A’s winning list.

Scene-stealers

Indeed, Keisuke Honda is determined to build a reputation in Italy’s top-flight league. He scored the Rosonneri’s first goal on the 7th minute, thus, building momentum for the club.

Juventus’ Carlos Tevez was also impressive in the match against Chievo. The Argentinian striker boldly took each and every scoring opportunity that it encountered on the pitch and was responsible in delivering key passes that brought fear to its opponent.

The blunders

Despite Mario Gomez’s return, the German striker was unable to help Fiorentina score its first 3 points in the season.

It was also a disappointing finish for Palermo, which allowed Sampdoria to pull off a last minute equalizer.

What to expect

The following week will see Fernando Torres wearing the AC Milan jersey. The former Chelsea man is on loan at San Siro after a frustrating spell at Stamford Bridge. His arrival is expected to bring more good news to the Rosonneri and a total challenge to other Serie A powerhouses such as Napoli, Juventus and AS Roma.
