Cristiano Ronaldo isn’t going anywhere near Manchester United, not even if it’s for an eye-popping one billion euros.

That’s according to Real Madrid president Florentino Perez, who admitted that Ronaldo was unhappy with their club. Jose Mourinho, Ronaldo’s compatriot, is set to leave the club as well.

I will do everything in my power to renew his contract. He has two years left… He is the best player in the world, and we would like to give a boost to the team by keeping him as a leader and an emblem,” Perez told Cadena Cope.

According to the Manchester United website, Perez is willing to make Ronaldo “the highest-paid star in the world” if it means keeping the star striker on the team.

When he said he was sad, he talked to me and I told him I would do everything possible for him to be happy,” Perez added.

Real Madrid currently has the second spot in La Liga, and will go head-to-head with Osasuna this June 1.

During Ronaldo’s four-year stay in the Santiago Bernabeu, he managed to score 146 times within 135 league matches. The Portuguese forward also has 201 strikes during the 199 matches he played with the club.
