Arsenal vs Tottenham

Two of London’s most successful football clubs (and arguably the most followed by supporters and sports betting sites), Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur, are up for a new brawl this September 1 to compete for potential dominance in the Premier League. The arch-rivals are currently placed in the upper half of the League table, with the latter five spots ahead of the former. The two sides were ranked very tightly last season, with just one point making their difference.

The Gunners and Spurs seem to not just be rivaling over the Premier League trophy or a place in Europe’s elite Champions League next year. With the summer transfer window yet to close, the North London heavyweights are also contending for Spanish genius Alvaro Vadillo to add in their squad. The Real Betis winger, 18, is seen as one of the most aggressive young players to ever come out from the Spanish brood and has been compared to a young Cristiano Ronaldo.

The archenemies’ current form

Spurs opened their Premier League sojourn with a spritely finish over Crystal Palace 1-0. This was eventually followed by another victory which they obtained from Swansea 1-0. Between these events is yet another triumph: a successful stint in the UEFA Europa League which saw André Villas-Boas’s men battering Georgian Dinamo Tbilisi 5-0.

The Gunners were less lucky than Tottenham when it comes to their Premier League debut performance. The side succumbed to Aston Villa 1-3 in the tournament’s opening day. They were, however, brisk to counter the attack. Arsène Wenger’s players successfully launched a comeback to win their second battle in the English top-level football, with opponents Fulham bowing to a 3-1 downfall. This was preceded by another win, this time against Fenerbahçe 3-0, in the UEFA Champions League.

The winners in a difficult match

It will never be too clear of how a Tottenham-Arsenal derby will turn out. Spurs won over The Gunners in their last match, but prior to that, Arsenal were the emerging victors. For this tourney, the results will largely anchor on their current Premier League appetite. With no defeats thus far, Tottenham would most likely come out triumphant in this round.
