Match Date: 11 February 2014 (local)

Match Venue: Upton Park

West Ham United

They may have been hapless in the League Cup and the FA Cup, but West Ham United have relatively been successful in their recent runs in the English top-tier football. Of their last five league matches, only one concluded in a defeat, another one finished in a draw, while the remaining three were brilliant successes—which include their latest battle. All of these wins were clean sheets, which is even more impressive considering the side underwent harsh struggles in the earlier weeks.

The Hammers are now out of the drop zone; in fact, they are already two points or three places above the relegation trio. However, safety is yet a far-flung challenge as they are still tasked to cancel out their negative goal difference. Team boss Sam Allardyce should see his men dramatically improve in defending set pieces and protect against attacks down the wings and long shots.

Norwich City

Barely looming above the relegation zone, Norwich City have plenty of things to prove. They have been nearly winless for the past 11 matches, with just one victory giving them zero deficits in points. The rest of that streak (from all competitions) posted their draws and defeats almost even.

Inconsistency is a major dilemma that The Canaries need to immediately address. They may be good at creating chances, but they are heavily challenged by their ballooning problem in other areas of battling in the pitch. They have loose possession of the ball, frequently make fouls, fail at defending counter attacks, and worst of all, unable to finish scoring chances.

Sports betting tip: West Ham United have the every reason to emerge as winners in this battle. Norwich City cannot solely capitalize on a few key players. They lack team work, which West Ham are proudly blessed with.
