Match Date: 08 February 2014 (local)

Match Venue: Liberty Stadium

Swansea City

Of their 10 most recent Premier League matches, only one resulted in triumph; three were deadlocks while the rest were painful defeats. Swansea City are still struggling with inconsistency and their task to make both ends meet becomes more difficult as the season nears its end. While they are currently ranked in the mid-table, their tendencies will not rule them out of plunging into the relegation zone.

The Jacks have no problem in terms of creating long shot opportunities or protecting the lead, but they are heavily burdened by their incapacity to defend against skillful players. They also lack significant skills in aerial duels and in preventing their opposition from creating scoring chances.

Cardiff City

After seven weeks of winless top-tier matches, Cardiff City have finally became the predators in their own battle when they had Norwich City fall prey to their sharp talons. The Bluebirds won the fixture with a two-goal lead. Norwich opened the scoring in the 5th minute via Snodgrass, but Bellamy was able to equalize in the 49th minute. Not long after, Jones sealed the victory for the hosts.

Cardiff’s win was an important source of points, but they would still need more victories in order to fully free themselves from the drop zone. They are currently ranked at number 19, just two points clear of the table’s foot.

Sports betting tip: Swansea City have the greater capability to create scoring chances than Cardiff, but the latter’s moderate aptitude to defend against attacks will be a slight problem for the former. Still, Swansea will win this battle, albeit in a very narrow finish.
