Sunderland

Whether in the League Cup, the FA Cup, or the Premier League, Sunderland show very poor results. The side have been winless for six straight matches with a lone point they obtained from drawing with fellow strugglers Crystal Palace in the English top-tier football. Their most recent tourney, a clash against Liverpool, caused them another three-point deficit. However, it was not an easy win for the hosts. In fact, it did not showcase their skills in fluidity and control as Sunderland managed to clinch one goal from them. If not for the second-half effort of Daniel Sturridge, the match could have forced both side drop two points. It was a thriller, nevertheless.

The Black Cats are only one point adrift of the table’s foot and were able to dwell three spots away from it through goal difference. Thus far, the side have only scored 16 goals in 29 matches but have already conceded 46.

West Ham United

After a three-match streak without a win, West Ham have finally ended their drought for points after securing the victory from a steep clash against Hull City 2-1. Goalkeeper Allan McGregor was issued a red card after sparking discomfort on Mo Diame, with Mark Noble dispatching the resulting penalty to set Sam Allardyce’s side on course for their ninth league win this season. But Steve Bruce’s lads strove really hard and gave their hosts a good fight with Nikica Jelavic scoring his fourth goal for the club before James Chester’s own goal decided the result.

The Hammers are now level on points with Aston Villa but rank spot higher for a much better goal difference. The current 11th placers should throw more explosives in order for them to at least reach the Europa League qualifying.

Online betting tip: Past records indicate a much stronger Sunderland side. However, current club forms tell otherwise. As with the result of the squads’ last face-off, this battle will conclude in a deadlock.
