This match will be Queens Park Rangers and Hull City’s first meeting in more than three years. In their last face-off, at the Championship in April 2011, they battled out a 1-1 stalemate. Will the same result happen this time around?

Queens Park Rangers

The official winners of the Championship play-offs, Queens Park Rangers obtained promotion to the top-flight football and will therefore spend the 2014-15 season in the Premier League. This will be their first appearance in the tournament since the 2012-13 season when they landed at the bottom of the table and were thus relegated to the Championship.

In their campaign last season, QPR delivered some of the most impressive spectacles in the second-tier league. They earned a total score of 80 points from 23 wins and 11 draws. They were among the qualifiers for the promotion play-offs and successfully seized the opportunity after trouncing Derby County in the final, 0-1. For their pre-season friendlies, the side accumulated a mix of wins (3), draws (2), and defeats (2).

Hull City

Although they finished as runners up in the FA Cup, Hull City apparently had a difficult season in the English top-tier league. They only ranked 16th in the table overall, scoring 37 points from 10 wins and seven draws. They incurred a total of 21 losses and suffered a goal difference of -15. They were only four points clear of relegation and were winless in their last five league matches last season.

In their recent pre-season efforts, however, The Tigers seem to be gaining back their best capabilities. They have been unbeaten in six straight matches, of which three finished successfully (two in club friendlies, one in the Europa League).

Sports betting tip: This tourney against Hull will yield Queens Park Rangers’ first win for the season.
