Premier League Match Preview: Norwich City vs. Hull City

Updated: January 15, 2014

Match Date: 18 January 2014 (local)

Match Venue: Carrow Road

Norwich City

At number 15, it is quite obvious that Norwich City are struggling to keep themselves looming above the bottom. They are only two points clear of relegation and their negative goal difference is not helping them earn the confidence they need to remain strong. The troupe have been rendered winless in their past eight matches (in all competitions). They have lost a generous portion of their Premier League fixtures and also failed to earn all the spoils (on aggregate scoring) from their tourney against Fulham at the FA Cup.

The Canaries may be good at creating chances but their lack of creativity and the weakness of their defense hinder them from converting those opportunities. In addition, they need intensive practice to improve their skills in aerial battles.

Hull City

Mid-table occupants Hull City have only won once in their last eight matches in the English top-flight league. The lone rose in a bed of thorns it might have been, the victory was a very impressive one. It was a clean sheet they obtained from Fulham, noted for having scored six goals—one of the highest home victories this season. This marks a stark difference from their other recent matches, particularly the goal-less defeats they incurred from Liverpool and Chelsea.

The Tiger’s horrible form was made even worse by a ballooning number of sidelined players. Team coach Steve Bruce cannot expect Robbie Brady, Omatsone Aluko, Paul McShane, and Joe Dudgeon in his team’s next battle due to these players being injured or ill.

Online betting tip: While both Norwich City and Hull City display trouble in terms of inconsistency, the home side are in a better position to claim victory from this meeting.
