Newcastle United

The side suffered their latest downfall from Tottenham Hotspurs who had Emmanuel Adebayor, Paulinho, and Nacer Chadli score four goals to inflict a 4-0 defeat on their opponents.

Alan Pardew’s men were short of truly spectacular stunts to overwhelm their rivals. Tim Sherwood’s squad, in contrast, were just very sprightly, highly creative, and impressively clinical that their hosts who could not afford to match. Current rankings position The Magpies at number nine, stagnated with 37 points and a goal difference of -6.

Aston Villa

The hosts dominated the first half with a few their players creating chances but failed to convert. Villa retaliated in the second half by letting Leandro Bacuna and Gabriel Agbonlaho take the efforts, but were also denied of points following an impressive goalkeeping by David Marshall. This left the fixture deprived of goals, allowing the sides to share the spoils, and head home frustrated. To date, Aston Villa have already amassed 28 points from 26 matches, helping them rank in the top dozen.
