Inconsistency is taking a toll on both Manchester United and West Ham’s form. The sides have inevitably landed in the mid-table by the Premier League’s fifth week, thanks to their remotely impressive performances in those weeks.

Manchester United

Manchester United seem to be continuing their saga of frustrating seasons which started last term and resumed (or worsened) to the current Louis van Gaal era. While David Moyes made a good debut during his stint with the former champions, Van Gaal had a much harder challenge of turning around the side’s desperate situation. Thus far, they have only won once in the past five weeks of the top-tier league as well as lost all the spoils in all of their last three League Cup efforts. The Red Devils currently rank 12th in the Premier League table—one of their worst ranks in recent times. In Angel Di Maria and Ander Herrera, however, the Dutch coach has two players who can rejuvenate the current squad.

West Ham United

Although winners in two top-flight matches, West Ham United have yet to make themselves more visible in the upper regions of the league table. The current eighth placers have some issues with their defense although a good attacking engine is keeping their hopes high for a UEFA spot by the conclusion of the tournament. The Hammers have already scored nine goals since the season opening, but that figure was almost matched by the number of goals that they conceded to their rivals (eight).

Football betting tip: West Ham United will remain with seven points while Manchester United are on course to bagging their second win of the season.
