Manchester United took another setback in their league performance after Sunderland inflicted a clean sheet defeat on the Ryan Giggs side. Sebastian Larsson was on point to handle a good load of opportunity from a weak United defense and a superb assist from Connor Wickham’s cross, firing home the only goal of the battle in the first half. The victory (which was extremely vital at this stage of the tournament) was Sunderland’s very first success at Old Trafford since 1968. United’s performance was lackluster at best. New coach Giggs required his men to be more upbeat with their maneuvers but none of these actions was clearly seen in the pitch.

Hull City’s already disastrous goal count was even more impaired by a defeat they incurred from Aston Villa. The side conceded three goals and scored only one—which was actually not a genuine one as it was an own goal from Bowery. The defeat locked the side on 37 points, but they no longer need to exert so much effort as their berth in next season’s Premier League has been sealed.

Football betting tip: Manchester United could pull this match off, but only on a very narrow margin.
