Match Venue: Etihad Stadium

Manchester City

City are still trying to recover from the loss they incurred from Chelsea 0-1 (which destroyed their unbeaten streak), after only drawing with Norwich City in their subsequent top-flight battle. However, in the FA Cup, the side made retaliation of sorts as they thrashed The Blues on a clean sheet.  Had these matches switched results, Manuel Pellegrini’s men would have maintained a nearly perfect form.

Apparently, Manchester City are among this season’s strongest contenders for the championship. In fact, they have already dominated the rankings several times in the past weeks and may still do so in the forthcoming weeks. However, Chelsea and Arsenal really strove to improve their results and they are now one point and two points clear of City respectively.

Stoke City

Shipping a second match in a row without earning all three points, Stoke City were held in a 1-1 deadlock by current 10th placers Swansea. The brawl was frenetic on both halves, with Peter Crouch opening the scoring for Stoke in the first half and Swansea’s Jose Manuel Flores delivering the equalizer in the second period.

Current standings leave Stoke only three points adrift of the drop zone, though they are still seven points clear of the table’s foot. An unreliable defense also made it harder for the squad to earn goals more than they could concede, with their present goal difference hammered at -14.

Sports betting tip: Manchester City are the dominant side in this brawl, and are likely to bag the win should Stoke City remain weak and meek in their attack and defense.
