Match Date: 14 December 2013 (local)

Match Venue: Etihad Stadium

Manchester City

Still ecstatic of the victory his team secured against Bayern Munich in the Champions League, Manuel Pellegrini has successfully leveled his team with the table leaders in terms of total points earned. The German club and the English pack are now on equal weight with 16 points apiece, in addition to having identical records of w5-D0-L1. However, due to Munich’s larger goal difference, Manchester City were narrowly taken away from claiming the top spot. The chances converted by David Silva, Aleksander Kolarov, and James Milner allowed City to obtain the most significant victory since they joined the Champions League elite.

Manchester City flaunt a perfect streak at home. In the English top-tier league, they rank at number four, after narrowly overtaken by one point by Chelsea and Liverpool. They have already earned 29 points from 15 matches, of which nine finished in victories and two in stalemates.

Arsenal

Premier League’s current frontrunners are five points clear of their runners up, at least for the time being. Playing at home or away does not hold much bearing when it comes to deciding the side’s fate in their matches. They have already won 11 times this season, six at home and five on the road.

Despite his team’s massive successes in their recent rallies, Arsène Wenger is not comfortable settling on complacency. In the Champions League for example, the coach is capitalizing so much resources to secure his lads’ qualification to the knockout stages. They only need a draw to make that happen, but he still pushes for a victory.

Football betting tip: This tourney will definitely catapult some of the most stellar performances in the season. Both Manchester City and Arsenal showcase excellent talents, offer a continuous stream of great teamwork, and are spearheaded by outstanding coaches. Hence, it will not come as a surprise if this match ends in a thrilling deadlock.
