Liverpool’s title hopes was put into question after the side only forced a draw against dark horses Crystal Palace. The stalemate brought The Reds one point closer to Manchester City, the club currently being seen to be the most plausible winners. Brendan Rodgers’ men were almost certain of the three points after they scored all the first three goals in the match. However, an impaired goalkeeping and loosened defense allowed Palace to fight back and fire a series of efforts that equalized Liverpool’s three-goal lead. As a result, they are faced with tremendous pressure as they are now only one match away towards the season’s conclusion. In comparison, City still have two.

Newcastle United’s place for next season is already sure but that did not hinder them from aiming for victory after they won against now-relegated Cardiff City at the St. James’ Park. Despite Alan Pardew’s low-key involvement in the match and with a seemingly mutinous crowd in the stadium, The Magpies still managed to dominate the scoring—their very first win since their clean sheet victory at Crystal Palace two calendar months ago.  Pardew’s concern on his men’s defensive shortcomings was aptly compensated by the rigorous attacks of Shola Ameobi, Remy, and Steven Taylor.

Football betting tip: This will be Liverpool’s last match for the season, and they will end it big by seizing all three points from Newcastle United.
