Match Date: 01 March 2014 (local)

Match Venue:  Craven Cottage

Fulham

Fulham have a huge burden to overcome in order for them to shun demotion. Their form is an absolute disaster, not to mention that they possess the league’s worst goal difference. The players seem uninspired, and new manager Felix Magath will have a tremendous challenge of turning his team’s 2014 campaign around. To put it in a nutshell, Fulham are in one of their worst seasons ever though Magath is yet to prove himself.

Fulham’s most recent battle awarded them one point, but it barely helped them climb up the table. Nevertheless, it was an okay start for Magath especially that the troupe almost won the battle if not for goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg’s late blunder which awarded West Brom a deserved 1-1 draw.

Chelsea

Chelsea’s submission to Manchester City in the FA Cup 2-0 was properly compensated by a win over Everton in the top-tier league. This helped the squad gain back the leadership and rank above Arsenal and Manchester City whom they are are now one and three points clear of, respectively. The clash could have ended in a draw as the sides were in a deadlock for the most parts of the battle. Not until John Terry’s stoppage-time goal that José Mourinho breathed a gust of relief as he saw The Blues rake a clean sheet and earn all three points.

Football betting tip: Chelsea will have an opportunity of leading another league week in this fixture against Fulham. The hosts may have a new manager to seek hope from, but Chelsea are just too strong and well-motivated to be stolen of three points.
