West Bromwich

Match Date: 29 January 2004 (local)

Match Venue: Villa Park

Aston Villa

The Villans have been having troubles since their defeat from Fulham last month. Of the eight matches following this encounter (in all competitions), only one picked up full points, two finished in draws, while the rest were disturbing deficits. A chance to recoup an FA Cup silverware was also shattered, banking zero points from a fixture that showed off Sheffield United’s modus operandi.

In the English top-flight football, Aston Villa are positioned at number 10 and are only six points clear of relegation. A continued plummet in their streak could mean a narrowing distance to the bottom, which may pose serious risk of their fate in the Premier League.

West Bromwich

Earning only one victory from their past 12 Premier League matches, West Bromwich are yet to bag a secure berth for next season. They are currently ranked at number 13, four points higher than the table’s bottom occupants, but still a far cry from the massive successes of the top six. Having a draw-dominated record, West Bromwich still lack truly impressive displays to fully free them from the risk of demotion.

Away from home, The Baggies are typically on the rocks. They have only managed to win once in all of their 11 away matches this season, five of which were draws and the rest were defeats.

Football betting tip: Aston Villa and West Bromwich’s past five meetings all rendered them equal. In this tourney, the same result is expected to come out.
