Match Venue: Villa Park

Aston Villa

After four goal-less encounters, Aston Villa have finally pulled off some innings when they met with Cardiff City two weeks ago. The feat was a clean sheet and this propelled the side to improve slightly in the rankings. Most recently, The Villa again bagged some goals, but they were held on a draw by West Bromwich after the latter also netted the same number goals. Current standings put Aston Villa at number 12, earning 15 points from four victories and three deadlocks.

On the road, Paul Lambert’s men are generally good, as seen in the clean sheets they obtains from their last four away matches. At home, they are less impressive. However, the victory they scored from Cardiff suggests that they are starting to earn glory in their own grounds. The players are excellent at coming back from losing positions, and their attack is gradually improving to complement their already strong defense.

Sunderland

After only earning seven points from 12 fixtures, Sunderland have remained among the least impressive clubs this season (in fact, they are currently in the table’s bottom). The Black Cats are struggling at exponential levels, plagued by nine defeats and only two conquests. The bizarre form is apparently fatal to Sunderland’s fate in the competition, and losing another joist means that their participation in next season’s competitions could be put on hiatus.

In terms of ball possession and finishing scoring chances, Gus Poyet’s troop have improved very little. They also continue to dwindle in other skills criteria. They remained poor at aerial duels and are incapable of managing through ball attacks.

Football betting tip: Apparently, this match is pointing Aston Villa to be the eventual winners. While they are not necessarily miles ahead of Sunderland, The Villa have the upper hand in this combat. Betting from 1.93 to 2.00 for the home side could be very favorable.
