Aston Villa

Match Date: 02 March 2014 (local)

Match Venue:  Villa Park

Aston Villa

Despite ranking in the mid-table, Aston Villa are completely not spared of being threatened from a relegation risk. Their home record alone is a proof of their inconsistency, having won only once (against West Brom 4-3) in their past eight home matches in all competitions. Their latest home defeat was from West ham United 0-2.

Paul Lambert’s side show strong hints of resilience, able to come out successful after a downfall or series of downfalls. This, however, does not hide the fact that they barely have the privilege to flaunt overall strong façade. They are poorly armed in the defense, have weak control of the ball, and often land in the offside.

Norwich City

Outside their own soil, Norwich City are appallingly hapless. They have been winless in their past six away matches, of which four were defeats and two were draws. In addition, four of these results rendered them goalless.

Chris Hughton’s men suffer from a poorly managed defense, though their clean sheet win at Tottenham Hotspur 1-0 gave life to a possible improvement in this department. They are not ranked in the drop zone, but they could plunge into that area soon if they are unable to show substantial improvements in key pitch skills. They are currently at number 14, just four points adrift of 18th placers Sunderland.

Sports betting tip: Aston Villa and Norwich are level in terms of total points earned but the former are one spot ahead of the standing due to a better (but not necessarily good) goal difference. With none of the sides clearly showing dominance, this match could lead in a stalemate.
