Manchester United - Di Maria

Week highlights

Online betting favorite, Chelsea continues to dominate the Premier League and it looks like it will take a total disaster to topple the Blues. Led by the scoring beast, Diego Costa, the squad easily thrashed Swansea. Four (4) massive goals were slapped against the Swans and the latter could only respond with a mere 2 goals, one of which even came from John Terry’s own goal.

Southampton also indulged in a scoring spree last week. Whilst Chelsea has Costa, Southampton has Graziano Pelle whose unstoppable brace gave the squad an early lead. Jack Cork and the ever reliable Morgan Schneiderlin added more damage to Newcastle United and after 90 minutes, Southampton kept a clean sheet and 3 points to propel its rank into the 4th spot of the table.

Also included in last week’s stunners’ list was Manchester United. The Red Devils has finally clinched its first win in the season after a poor start. The Argentinian international and former Real Madrid winger, Angel Di Maria triggered United’s winning ways in the match against the newly promoted, Queen Parks Rangers. The final score: 4-0 in favor of Louis Van Gaal and his men.

If there are victors, there were also losers and plain mediocre last week. Arsenal and Manchester City had to settle for  a draw and so was Sunderland and Tottenham. Unfortunately, title contender, Liverpool had to bow down its head to a determined Aston Villa.

Scene-stealers

It looks like Diego Costa has finally settled in the EPL. The poacher’s hat trick last week was purely phenomenal.

Likewise, the Red Devils are indeed, getting its money’s worth with Di Maria. The player immediately made an impression upon stepping under the bright lights of Old Trafford and certainly, his scoring exploits and impeccable skills on the pitch will not end soon.

Similarly, Alexis Sanchez made it clear that his consistent performance shall not wane.

The blunders

What happened to the Brendan Rodgers revolution? Certainly, last week’s defeat barely exemplifies the characteristics of a squad, which was previously hailed as a strong title contender.

What to expect

The following week shall see a major face-off between Manchester City and Chelsea. The two have developed a strong and exciting rivalry in the top-flight league, which is more than enough to cause spectators jumped out of their seats. Certainly, it will be a battle of wit and strategies between Manuel Pellegrini and of course, the Special One, Jose Mourinho.
