Match Prediction: Borussia Dortmund VS. Borussia Monchengladbach

Date:  20 July 2013, Borussia Park

The Verdict: Dortmund Dominates Telekom Cup

Jurgen Klopp and the rest of the Borussians shall have the chance to put its new line-up to the test in the upcoming Telekom Cup this 20 July 2013. Mario Goetze and Robert Lewandowski’s transfer to arch rival, Bayern Munich is a great blow to the squad’s attacking maneuvers, but Klopp responded quickly to the challenge via signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Sokratisw Papastathopoulos and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

The three has yet to prove themselves to the club and there is no better place to do it than in the above-mentioned friendly where they meet Borussia Monchengladbach.

Despite of the fact that The Foals has the home court advantage, the match will remain a Borussian show.

During the last season, Klopp and his men were Bundesliga’s runner-up. Not only were they the next best German group, they also disappointed many of El Clasico hopefuls when it destroyed Real Madrid in last year’s UEFA Champions League tournament.

On the other hand, The Foals made a not so strong finish last season. They were on the 8th spot in the Bundesliga table and were short for three (3) points to even qualify for the Europa League.

Borussia Monchengladbach has a reputation of making strong rallies on the pitch, yet, suffers from keeping their lead and such scenario will definitely be included in the Borussians’ favorite list. The latter is recognized for its strong counter-attacks and creative scoring displays that will keep the Foals on their toes—just like what they did to Bayern in their UEFA encounter. The team can be unforgiving even in a friendly like the Telekom Cup.

It is obvious that Dortmund is the automatic winner of this match. Far from being the heavy favorite, their current team form is more than prepared to face any upcoming challenge that shall come along its way.
