Barcelona v Deportivo La Coruna - La Liga

Good news for the defending champions: the pressure is kept at bay as they are still dominating the Spanish top-flight league single-handedly. FC Barcelona (Barça) are living up to their supporters and online bookies’ expectations amid the obvious density of the current season’s fixtures. Aiming to destroy the side’s weighty success are Andalusia’s most successful club, Sevilla FC (Sevillistas). Will this attempt pay off by the end of the match? Or will this be another easy home win for the current table-top occupants?

The reigning champions are hesitant to bequeath their trophy to another club, and will remain so until their torch are axed by a surprise breakthrough from one of their rivals. They kicked off their new season campaign with debris from their victory last season, having defeated Levante in a superlative 7-0 final tally. This was followed by another pair of triumphs, thrashing both Malaga 1-0 and Valencia 3-2. Although Ibrahim Afellay, Isaac Cuenca, and Carles Puyol are out, Barça will keep a comfortable form with Neymar and Messi still onboard.

Sevilla, currently placed 15th in the League table, have a half dozen players (including defender Cicinho and forward Cheryshev) ruled out for a few of their upcoming matches, including this one against Barcelona. Geoffrey Kondogbia’s departure for AS Monaco is still a distress for Unai Emery’s squad, and yet here is another string of player shelving pinned to their record. The side started their La Liga campaign really bad after Atletico Madrid pounded them in an away 1-3 victory. This was, however, moderately countered by two successive draws with Levante 0-0 and Malaga 2-2.

Prediction: Sevilla need more wins to improve their standing, but obviously, they are headed to another downfall by most estimates. Barcelona’s monumental power is hard topple, and Sevilla will inevitably submit to their opponents.
