Last season, Sevilla and Getafe’s two-legged fixtures produced one victory for each of the squads. However, aggregate scores would put the former ahead of the latter 3-1.

Sevilla

Entering the season with a low-key debut, Sevilla made it within top five on second week following an entertaining victory Espanyol 1-2—this was at the back of their slow opening with a 1-1 draw versus Valencia. The side now boast of four points to their name. Of the squad’s members, five players made important contributions: goal scorers Aleix Vidal, Carlos Bacca, and Vicente Iborra as well as assisters Coke and Denis Suarez. Keeper Mariano Barbosa, while he was not able to produce a clean sheet, also deserves recognition for the various saves he made. Unai Emery’s men’s obsession in the mid-field might be working to some degree for them, but they need to place more emphasis on their defense in order to minimize their opponents from making chances.

Getafe

The Azulones made a disappointing debut in the competition after they lost all the spoils to Celta Vigo 3-1. In their second and most recent battle, however, the squad successfully added three points to their score sheet following a 1-0 home victory against Almeria. This helped them jump from number 17 to the top dozen in the league table. It was their first win in four attempts from all competitions, following defeats from Mallorca and Sporting Gijon in friendlies and as mentioned, Celta in La Liga.

Sports betting tip: Sevilla will make it two triumphs in a row at the expense of Getafe.
