Both currently ranked at the table’s bottom five, Almería and Cordoba need more than just a formation change to make drastic improvements. They need a full-blast tactical reform and a major recharge in their defensive weaponry.

Almeria have yet to win a battle for their new La Liga campaign after they only forced a draw in their debut and then lost in their second fixture. They opened their campaign with a 1-1 result against Espanyol, with goals netted by Soriano and Garcia. In their clash versus Getafe, Almeria scored zero goals and conceded one which was converted by Vasquez. They currently rank at number 17, just one spot away from the dreaded relegation zone—although they are level on points with Cordoba and Elche who are both in the bottom three. The side’s attack is not very well developed, and more so for their defense. Their goal difference of -1 is proof to this paucity in good offensive play.

Newly promoted Cordoba seem to be finding it tough to acclimatize with the pressure of the Spanish top-flight as they completed their first two La Liga matches with rather disappointing results. They were beaten by Real Madrid in their debut, an outcome that was largely expected but still, a major no-no for club’s form. In their second fixture, they pulled off a much better result which was a 1-1 stalamate against Celta Vigo. Although a point was obtained from this battle, it was not enough to put them at the refuge of the league table’s safer spots.

Sports betting tip: A low-scoring draw will cap Almería and Cordoba’s meeting.
