Serie A Week 8 Recap

Week highlights

With Napoli back to its winning ways, Serie A just got more exciting and thrilling.

Indeed, the Partenopei is out to score points and outlast its rivals. After a temporary stint at the mid-table, the squad has finally moved on from its Champions League elimination and showed some grit. Pitted against Hellas Verona, Rafael Benitez and his men tore his visitor with a 6-2 victory.

Despite being stuck in the 7th spot of the league table, Napoli’s massive win was a clear indication that they are back in the competitive zone. The Partenopei had problems in returning to its top form after the above-mentioned elimination. Yet, with its current win, there is no doubt that Napoli is out to dominate.

Meanwhile, Roma continues to pressure Juventus in the title race. The defending champion’s lead was down to three (3) after the scoreless stalemate that Roma had with Sampdoria. Unfortunately, the led could have been cut down to a single point if the squad was able to snatch a win.

On the other hand, Udinese was also one of the biggest winners last week. A 2-0 victory against Atalanta catapulted the squad’s rank to the 3rd spot.

And while it is true that racist controversies revolve within Inter’s camp, the club pulled off a win, which sent them on the 8th spot of the league table.

Scene-stealers

Marek Hamisk and Gonzalo Higuain readily featured last week. Scoring a brace, these two players gave Napoli a renewed confidence that will help them achieve a strong finish this season.

The blunders

Suffering its 6th consecutive loss, Parma certainly needs a revamp. It has been lingering at the rock bottom part of the table for quite some time now. But with another blunder, it has transformed into a relegation favorite of sports betting sites.

What to expect

The biggest question that Serie A currently confronts is whether Napoli can make it to the league’s elite and with the looks of their current accomplishment, there is no doubt that they will certainly make a huge progress.
