Goals from Stefano Mauri and an Antonio Candreva earned Lazio victory over Livrono, boosting their hopes for European berths. Lazio almost opened the scoring only four minutes from start, but Mauri’s strike was exceptionally saved by keeper Francesco Bardi. From the 15th to 51st minutes, however, Biancocelesti proved their dominance. The side are now just one spot below the Europa League places.

It was a resounding success for Hellas Verona to welcome Catania into their home court as they trounced their guests with a massive four-goal victory. Luca Toni opened the scoring and Frison delivered an own goal to make it 2-0 before the hour’s half. Marquinho and Taleb rounded up the victory with goals in the 45th and 74th minutes, respectively. The success brought three more points to Gialloblu’s earnings to render them level with Torino and Lazio.

Football betting tip: Lazio will win over Verona on a very narrow margin.

Juventus vs. Atalanta

Match Date: 05 May 2014 (local)

Match Venue: Juventus Stadium

Remaining at the summit for 23 consecutive weeks (and technically in two more weeks) is almost a guarantee of a sure Juventus championship by the end of the season. The defending champions would only need one more positive result to seal their victory and with a trend as strong as the past seasons, it is no remote possibility. Vecchia Signora will keep it robust, perhaps through maintaining massive skills on free kicks, set pieces, and through balls.

In a match that was almost ending in Atalanta’s advantage, deep frustration was incurred. The side drew with Genoa 1-1 that was accentuated by a late equalizer by Giuseppe De Luca. This worsened La Dea’s chance at barging into the UEFA places, especially that they have already suffered a nine-point deficit from the three previous fixtures. On the brighter side, their seeding for next Serie A season is already certain.

Sports betting tip: Juventus will succeed in defending their title.
