It is quite uncommon for a relegation-prone side to earn a clean sheet, more so when they are pitted against players who rank several places above them. However, struggling Sassuolo can nail surprises whenever they want to. In fact, the brawl they most recently had against Atalanta awarded them with two goals and ultimately, the three points. The match saw Nicola Sansone strike a brace and brought home all the spoils for Neroverdi with his two goals being the only ones scored in the battle. This resulted in Eusebio Di Francesco’s men approach safety to just two points. More positive results in the upcoming weeks will allow them to spend another stay in Serie A next season.

Cagliari, by a nearly opposite circumstance, almost went home goalless. They did manage to avail of a successful late rally but Rossoblu still ended up losing all the spoils. Their opponents, title chasers Roma, only needed the service of one man to win the battle. Mattia Destro struck a hat-trick and he almost provided his side with a clean sheet had it not been for the late penalty converted by Mauricio Pinilla. The defeat meant that Ivo Pulga’s players will remain stuck at 32 points and at the 15th spot.

Football betting tip: Sassuolo will make it two weeks straight victorious.

Livorno vs. Chievo Verona

Match Date: 13 April 2014 (local)

Match Venue: Armando Picchi

Strugglers Livorno and Chievo will meet for the second this season to battle out for their chance at survival. The last meeting they had rendered Chievo the winners and current rankings indicate that they would still end up to be the superior side over Livorno. However, their past five matches have placed the hosts with a slightly greater advantage, having been able to secure four points (one win, one draw) from their last five weeks in Serie A. In comparison, the visitors only achieved three points.

None of these sides are in a certain position of not exiting the league by the end of the season. They both rank in the table’s lowest quartile, with Amaranto buried in the relegation zone and Gialloblu only above them by mere two points.

Sports betting tip: Livorno and Chievo Verona will drop two points apiece.
