Both of these troupes are in grave need of a win. Dwelling in the table’s bottom for an extended time will absolutely jeopardize their Serie A campaign, and in turn, tarnish their record with online bookies.

Sassuolo

Since Day 1, Sassuolo have never been able to escape from the inhospitable environment of the relegation zone. Acclimatizing in the frenzied atmosphere of the Italian top-flight league is fairly in development. Coach Eusebio Di Francesco can barely find the right formula to mimic their success last season in the second division. Although slight improvements in the squad were seen in their last few matches—picking up scores from and drawing with Napoli and Lazio—the moderate progress is not enough for them to keep up with the pace of the competition. In their most recent clash for example, in what was expected to be their first win this season, saw them submit to the equally struggling Parma. The tourney almost gave the opponents a clean sheet if not for the lone goal scored by Berardi.

Bologna

Bologna are yet to win a match this season. Their last five fixtures already gave them three defeats and two draws, which means that winning this round would be highly crucial to the side’s future in Serie A. They were in the mid-table last term, but slid to the bottom as of seventh week this season (they were also in the bottom during the first and sixth match weeks). A victory at Città del Tricolore is not entirely impossible, but it is also not completely plausible. Strategies honed by Stefano Pioli are no longer as sharp as they were before, which is the very reason that Napoli, Torino, Roma, and most recently, Verona, bagged more than one goal from them. In addition, the side need to better their strength at the back.

Football betting tip: This fixture may not be one of the season’s most picturesque, but this battle is still worth watching. A very slim difference between the teams is expected, but a draw is likely to mark the pitch war’s finish.
