Genoa 1

Match Date: 02 February 2014 (local)

Match Venue: Comunale Luigi Ferraris

Inconsistency is a major distress to Genoa, who found themselves dwelling in the lower mid-table following mixed feats in their past few matches. In their five most recent league fixtures alone, the team secured all possible results: defeats from Bologna 1-0 and Roma 4-0, victories at Sassuolo 2-0 and Inter 1-0, as well as a deadlock with Fiorentina 3-3.

I Rossoblu’s home matches in the Italian top-flight league for the current season started off a little on the rocks, put they eventually picked up with numerous wins at their opponents, including clean sheets from two of their closest rivals Inter and Verona. They have been unbeaten in their last seven home tourneys.

Sampdoria were several times plunged into the relegation zone this season, but their strong determination to reach the safe positions has rewarded them deservedly. They are now out of the drop spots and have been spending their last few Serie A matches in the top 14 (they currently rank at number 13). They have already amassed 22 points from all their matches, but their negative goal difference suggests that they still need a tremendous amount of efforts to fully free themselves from the threats of demotion.

Sports betting tip: Genoa and Sampdoria are just two places apart in the league table. Their past three face-offs have also rendered the sides equal, drawing in one fixture and earning one victory apiece. In this meeting, expect a series of equalizers to cap the conclusion in a draw.
