Atalanta slid from the eighth spot to the 10th after they incurred a second straight upset in Serie A. Title chasers Roma inflicted La Dea with a 3-1 away defeat to keep their scoring at bay and moored at 46 points. They are now five points away from the final seeding of the Europa League and are tasked of turning their poor goal difference around.

Stefano Colantuono’s have so far engaged in 16 home matches, 10 of which were very successful while four ended bitterly. Two draws, which they obtained from Inter 1-1 and Roma 1-1, complete the streak.

Hellas Verona

Verona were knocked out of the top half after they were beaten by Fiorentina on weekend at the Marc’Antonio Bentegodi. It was a very entertaining display of stellar actions which saw both sides earn respectable goals.

Jacopo Sala opened the scoring for Verona early on but Juan Cuadrado and Alberto Aquilani completed a quick turnaround for Fiorentina before half-time. In the second half, Luca Toni delivered an equalizer to Borja Valero’s opening before Alessandro Matri successfully converted a penalty and Aquilani scored his second. It was already a tall order for Verona to gain back the lead as their opponents are already ahead by three goals. Juan Iturbe did manage to bag a stoppage time goal but it was no longer useful. The defeat counts as Gialloblu’s 15th this season.

Sports betting tip: Atalanta and Verona are currently level on points, and they will remain so after this tourney.
