Serie A Match Preview: AC Milan vs. Atalanta

Updated: January 3, 2014
AC Milan

Match Date: 06 January 2014 (local)

Match Venue: Stadio Giuseppe Meazza

AC Milan

None of Milan’s last four matches finished in victory, only acquiring two draws (with Livorno 2-2 and Roma 2-2) and one defeat (from Inter 1-0) in Serie A and a deadlock in the Champions League (with Ajax 0-0). Domestically, the club are far from being the frontrunners that they used to be four seasons ago. They are now ranked in the lower mid-table, largely because of the inconsistency they have displayed in the majority of their campaign.

With only four wins, seven draws, and six losses, i Rossoneri are having their toughest season in years. They are faced with a tremendous challenge of bouncing back to the top spots of the league table, and will have to exert so much effort in order for them to climb up at least in the edges of the top half.

Heavily unreliable when playing away from their territory, Atalanta should move mountains in order to rework their already-poor form. Of the nine away matches they had in the current season, only one went astride the highest poles, while the majority had them fall to their knees—some were even goal-less. One away match picked up one point after it ended in a draw with the opponents. Current standings place Stefano Colantuono’s men at number 15, saved only by four points to remain adrift of the bottom three.

Online betting tip: This fixture will see AC Milan run away the silverware. Atalanta could go home with at least one goal under their belt, but they will be thrashed by the hosts with at least a two-goal lead.
