As far as the first three Serie A match weeks are concerned, Verona are performing so much better than last season. The current third placers have never been beaten in their past few league matches, ending their face-offs against Palermo and Torino with flying colors at the back of a deadlock season debut with Atalanta. Thus far, the side only needed Luca Toni and Artur Ionita (as well as a lucky own goal from their opponents) to bring them to their current position. Genoa, in comparison, are gradually picking up momentum into the season. They opened their campaign with a loss to Napoli before they seized a goalless draw with Fiorentina the following week. Most recently, they obtained their very first win of the new season at the expense of Lazio. They are now part of the top after spending the past couple weeks in the bottom six.

Sports betting tip: Verona will net more goals than Genoa.

Fiorentina vs. Sassuolo

Match Date: 25 September 2014 (local)

Match Venue: Artemio Franchi, Firenze

Fiorentina’s past five matches in all competitions do not seem completely appealing. They may have won in their two most recent tourneys but that will not change the fact that they also incurred a goalless draw with Genoa as well as back-to-back defeats from Roma and Lugano. In Serie A, they almost did not make the top half cut, thanks to a less frustrating goal difference than Cesena (with whom they are level on points). Sassuolo, however, have a much worse form. While scoring two points from their past three league battles and narrowly avoiding the relegation zone at the end of week three, I Neroverdi currently hold the worst away defeat of the season. They conceded seven goals to Inter without scoring any.

Online betting tip: Sassuolo will incur their second defeat of the season at the hands of Fiorentina.
