Lazio entered the season on a rather frustrating stance. The side did not score even just one goal against Roma, although an own goal by Alex ensured that Biancocelesti won’t exit the pitch empty-handed. Honda, Muntari, and Menez all netted the net for Roma and left Lazio lacking in vital stamina to counter the attacks. The disappointing result, inevitably, put them in the relegation zone—a very ugly start for their Serie A campaign. Cesena, by contrast, kicked off their top-flight campaign with a brilliant 1-0 finish against Parma. The newly promoted squad delivered well and are now nine matches free of any defeat, thanks to Alejandro Rodriguez’s first-half goal. Placed fifth (jointly, with Juventus) in the league table, Cavallucci Marini must improve in their aerial duel in order to remain in the top half throughout the tournament.

Football betting tip: In spite of their opposing debut performances, Lazio and Cesena will cap their meeting in a deadlock.

Inter vs. Sassuolo

Match Date: 14 September 2014 (local)

Match Venue: Stadio Olimpico, Rome

Inter and Sassuolo kicked off their new Serie A campaign with just one point to brag about. The sides were both held in their respective matches by their rivals and their mediocre score meant that the highest possible spot they can reach the table is only in the mid-table. Neroverdi finished within the top 10 for the competition’s debut week, while Nerazzurri held on to the 12th spot. The home squad scored one goal from their match while the guests were rendered goalless by their rivals. Head to head, however, Inter have consistently been so much stronger than Sassuolo based on their last two meetings—when the hosts toppled their visitors with an aggregate score of 8-0.

Sports betting tip: Inter Milan will easily triumph over Sassuolo.
