Jointly occupying the seventh spot of the league rankings with Sassuolo, Sampdoria, and Palermo, Cagliari debuted in the season neither impressively nor disappointingly. They held Sassuolo in a draw 1-1 away, with their goal scored by Marco Sau as an equalizer to Simone Zaza’s opener. This extends their unbeaten run to four matches, which has been capped by a 8-0 home rout at Asiago Team in a summer friendly. Atalanta, although they also picked up one point from their season debut match, rank just outside the top half as they ended they battle with Hellas Verona without any goal scored. Their tourney was highly defensive and none of them were able to improve a notch in their attacks. But unlike Cagliari, Stefano Colantuono’s men have a more ‘perfect’ recent form as their last four matches have all been victorious—clean sheets, to be exact.

Online betting tip: Cagliari and Atalanta will each obtain one point from their meeting.

Sampdoria vs. Torino

Match Date: 14 September 2014 (local)

Match Venue: Stadio Luigi Ferraris

Sampdoria and Torino completed their debut performances in Serie A new season in the mid-table, with both squads scoring draws from their respective matches. Sampdoria held Palermo away 1-1 while Torino held Inter at home 0-0. The goal differences made the teams five spots apart (i Blucerchiati 9th and il Toro 13th) although they are level on points. Head to head, the sides spent three of their last four matches sharing the spoils; the only occasion that one of them came out better than the other was their most recent meeting, when Siniša Mihajlović’s men obtained a two-goal clean sheet against their opponents.

Football betting tip: Sampdoria and Torino will battle out in a goalless stalemate.
