Recap

But of course, it is rare to see a dull and dry Bundesliga kick-off. Each match is characterized by the squad’s passion to carve their name in the league that is considered as one of the most popular in the world. Some were able to make giant leaps, others have to settle for a draw. However, there are clubs, which will be forced to play harder and better next week.

Scene-stealers

The Bavarians made a strong start in defending their title this season when they outlasted Wolfsburg. Goals coming from World Cup stars such as Thomas Muller and Arjen Robben crushed their opponent.

However, other than the victory, the match became even more memorable with the return of Holger Badstuber. The defender has been sidelined for quite some time after incurring an injury.

Joining Bayern in the list of winning teams is Bayer Leverkusen. Roger Schmidt and his men did an impressive job of dominating the match against another title contender, Borussia Dortmund.

Likewise, Hannover 96 was a stunner when it defeated Schalke. Eintracht Frankfurt, which, flirted in the relegation zone last season, also featured via sealing a narrow victory over Freiburg.

The blunders

Apparently, Dortmund and Schalke were the biggest flops last week. Considering the strength and depth of both clubs, a slow start was rather unexpected.

What to expect

Franck Ribery is expected to return in the pitch soon. The French international and former Ballon D’Or nominee is fast recovering from a back problem that kept him sidelined during the World Cup.

Aside from Ribery’s return, online betting favorites such as Dortmund and Schalke are also expected to bounce back next week.
