The summer transfer window is down to its last month and the new season is set to kick off in a few weeks (or days). Bundesliga squads are already mustering all the possible opportunities they could get to start their campaign right. Here are some of the hottest happenings in Germany’s top-flight football:

  • A contract deal amounting to €2.5 million was signed by Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina to play for German defending champions and football betting favorites Bayern Munich. The signing confirmed the player’s permanent inclusion to a squad after spending the last season with Napoli on loan. He will, however, might spend the bulk of the season on the bench as Manuel Neuer is expected to be the side’s number one for the majority of their fixtures.
  • Stuttgart are seeking the service of Spanish player Oriol Romeu to make their midfield even more compact. The Chelsea footballer would be loaned by the German squad on a season-long spell.
  • Swiss international Haris Seferovic has left Real Sociedad for Eintracht Frankfurt, potentially upgrading the side’s attacking force. The 22-year old striker appeared in four matches during Switzerland’s stint at the recently concluded World Cup.
  • Another Swiss player, Valon Behrami, has sealed a deal with a German squad and left his Serie A team, Napoli. The experienced midfielder will play for Hamburg on a permanent basis.
  • Bayer Leverkusen acquired Greek defender Kyriakos Papadopoulos from Schalke on loan until the conclusion of the season. The 22-year-old spent the past two seasons on the bench due to injury, but he now hopes to kick-off his career at the BayArena.
