Bayer Leverkusen further proved their dominance over Nurnberg after they inflicted the latter with their 16th defeat this season, burying them deeper into the relegation zone. Emir Spahic scored twice in the fixture and the side were barely intimidated by their struggling opponents even if arwin Plattenhardt brought them level in the 26th minute. Sebastian Boenisch and Roberto Hilbert wrapped up the victory for Leverkusen who are now back to the fourth place, thus earning them a potential place in the Champions League playoffs next season.

Dortmund made it six weeks without a defeat after they stole all the spoils from Mainz 05 on weekend. They remain a favorite club for the runners’ up position, and certifiably so as they are now six points clear of third placers Schalke. Their current form and total points are already enough to secure them seeding in next season’s Champions League.

Football betting tip: Borussia Dortmund could win over Leverkusen, but on a very small margin.

FC Augsburg vs. Hamburg SV

Match Date: 27 April 2014 (local)

Match Venue: SGL Arena

Augsburg’s place for next season’s Bundesliga is now certain, but a very strong finish in the current term may not be fully granted. The side are one spot outside of the UEFA places and would need at least two more victories (from the remaining three weeks) to have a much greater chance of participating at least in the Europa League. Form-wise, Fuggerstädter are not that spectacular. In fact, four of their past seven matches ended in defeats.

Hamburg are struggling to remain afloat of the drop zone. They are currently slated for the relegation playoffs and they have a very good chance at plunging into the abyss. In that case, it would be a disaster and a major disgrace for these seven-time German champions. Their last two matches have so far yielded them with zero points, but they may capitalize on their excellent skills on direct free kicks to ensure victory in their next battles.

Sports betting tip: Augsburg will be held in a draw by Hamburg.

One of the major surprises that engulfed Bundesliga’s latter matches was Schalke’s defeat to strugglers Stuttgart. The match saw Martin Harnik nudge a brace and Cacau score his first this season while Adam Szalai delivered the only goal for Die Königsblauen. The loss counts as Schalke’s first in six matches and seventh overall. Fortunately, their score has so substantial that they remained within the top three despite the deficit.

M’gladbach also suffered a surprise defeat from an otherwise struggling opposition. Freiburg scored four goals against Die Fohlen’s two, veering the former further away from the drop zone while halting the latter’s aim at barging into the Champions League spots. Regardless of the defeat, Lucien Favre are now certain to be coming back to the German top-flight league next season and their berth in the Europa is almost secured.

Online betting tip: Schalke 04 and Borussia Monchengladbach are off to a thrilling draw.
