Mainz 05

Incurring a three-point, three-goal deficit from their meeting with Wolfsburg, Mainz slid two spots in the league standings from number seven down to the ninth. The scoring was opened by Riccardo Rodriguez in the second period, breaking the deadlock which lasted for 59 minutes. Bas Dost added a second six minutes after the hour and Luiz Gustavo sealed the scoring 15 minutes from time. Mainz were defensively aggressive in the first half, but Loris Karius’ goalkeeping started to weaken by the time their opponents began taking control of the match.

Die Nullfünfer are in pain of a negative goal difference but head coach Christian Heidel does not succumb to the pressures as his lads are still placed within the top half. Their current record stands at W9-D3-L8 for total points of 30.

Hannover 96

They could have obtained a three-match perfect streak have they not submitted to Schalke 04 at the Veltins-Arena on weekend. Hannover 96 briefly broke their back-to-back successes in Bundesliga against Wolfsburg and M’gladbach after they were trounced on a clean sheet by their Gelsenkirchen rivals. Jefferson Farfan and Max Meyer successfully out-powered Die Roten keeper Ron-Robert Zieler in the race to the net, securing one goal apiece before the break and leaving the scoring at 2-0 until full-time. The downfall made Tayfun Korkut’s men to remain in the 10th place with 24 points.

Online betting tip: Positioned side by side in the rankings, Mainz 05 and Hannover 96 could expect their brawl to be a tight and thrilling one. As per past four meetings, the sides are weighed equal as they accomplished the same results. In this upcoming face-off, another stalemate should be expected.
