Freiburg ended 2013 with a much-needed success, earning a victory over Hannover 96 after three consecutive matches of poor results. The triumph could fuel a renewed confidence to commence the new year with another success. At present, the side are just a spot above the relegation zone, having earned 14 points from all their fixtures with a goal difference of -15. This could soon be upgraded if Breisgau-Brasilianer are able to maintain their improving momentum.

Twin goals from Admir Mehmedi gave Freiburg reason to be joyful at the end of a strenuous and grueling first half of the season. The Swiss striker scored two goals in the face-off’s first-half. Leonardo Bittencourt of Hannover did seize a late comfort, but it was not enough to end the battle at least in a stalemate.

Bayer Leverkusen

Leverkusen’s last two Bundesliga fixtures were painful conclusions to the season’s first half. The defeats from Werder Bremen and Frankfurt just made them farther from the current league leaders, Beyern Munich, who are seven points above them. At second place, the side are still in a very safe and strong position, but when talking about their possible overall supremacy in league, that can be quite less achievable.

Having shipped 37 points from their 17 matches in Bundesliga, with 32 goals scored on top, Sami Hyypiä’s men could still muster enough confidence to bounce back to their personal summit.

Sports betting tip: Bayer Leverkusen will give their very best to go back to a neck-and-neck rivalry with the table toppers, and there is no other better way to do that than toppling Freiburg. Expect the visitors thrash the hosts in an attack-fueled finish.
