Last season, Freiburg and Leverkusen were rendered equal based of the two-legged encounter they had: each winning three points on home matches. By aggregate scores, however, Leverkusen were slightly better than their opponents.

Winless in five consecutive Bundelisga matches (or since the new season kicked off), Freiburg have remained a low-key prospect to football fans as with the past season. While their form is not necessarily among the worst in the tournament, the three-pointer set is also not among the most appealing. The side kicked of their campaign with a goalless defeat to Frankfurt and then followed it up with a draw against Monchengladbach before losing again to Dortmund. Their last two meetings gave them better figures in terms of goals scores, but they were virtually leveled by fellow top-flight participants, Berlin and Hoffenheim. Christian Streich’s men are currently just two places (or one point) above the relegation zone.

Bayer Leverkusen

Their past five pitch participations (in all competitions) gave Bayer Leverkusen more reasons to be heartbroken than to be ecstatic. While they have picked up three points from their most recent tourney in Bundesliga, they failed to bag at least one point from their two earlier meetings: one also in the German top-tier football against Wolfsburg and the other in the Champions League versus Monaco. These were at the back of stalemates with Werder Bremen in the domestic league 3-3 and with St. Pauli in a club friendly. Taking Bundesliga into consideration as the only gauge of the side’s performance, they have only been unproductive in one fixture. In fact, they are currently positioned in the league table’s second best spot (they were the frontrunners in the first three weeks of the new season).

Online betting tip: Bayer Leverkusen will find the net a few times at the expense of Freiburg.
