Bundesliga Match Preview: Eintracht Frankfurt vs. Schalke 04

Updated: November 15, 2013

Match Date: 23 November 2013 (local)

Match Venue: Commerzbank-Arena

Eintracht Frankfurt

In their last seven fixtures, Eintracht Frankfurt remained far from being impressive. None of those tourneys finished in a victory, although more than half of the number concluded in well-to-do stalemates. Die Adler’s three most recent battles, however, were awfully tragic as all of those concluded in defeats. The side are currently ranked at number 15, just one spot away from the bottom three.

Frankfurt had a terrible start in the new Bundesliga season, plagued primarily by their weakness in defending against attacks down the wings. While they may have scored wins in two fixtures, they are still miles behind of the success of other clubs. Armin Veh is struggling to replicate the success of his troupe from last season, although there is still an ample possibility for him to drive his men in the right direction.

Schalke 04

Sitting comfortably at number six, Schalke 04 have managed to keep a relatively good run in the season. While weeks two to seven may have been a struggle for the side, the period served as motivation to perform better in their next fixtures. Die Königsblauen are slightly down from last season, but their recent successes against Hertha and Bremen are indicative of an agile recovery.

What makes Schalke 04 an impressive ensemble is their resistance from previous losses. The pack are very resilient; in fact, they are some of the most perseverant warriors in the league this season. In fairness to them, Jens Keller’s lads are very good at finishing scoring chances and stealing the ball from their rivals.

Football betting tip: This match could evolve into a very interesting battle. Last season saw the sides rank almost on the same pedestal, while this time around, Schalke 04 are leaving behind Frankfurt in a much larger difference in score. A tight clash is expected from this combat, but Schalke 04 will carry the day no matter what.
