Bundesliga Match Preview: Eintracht Braunschweig vs. SC Freiburg

Updated: November 15, 2013

Match Date: 23 November 2013 (local)

Match Venue: Eintracht-Stadion

Eintracht Braunschweig

No other players in the current Bundesliga season have stayed in the relegation zone much longer than Eintracht Braunschweig. Spending 10 weeks (out of 12) in the bottom three, Die Löwen are apparently having a terrible run this term. The newly promoted side have only managed to win twice in the tournament, forced a draw also twice, and suffered defeat eight times. They may be good in protecting the lead, but their expertise in that department cannot compensate for their inability to avoid offside, shun individual errors, and veer away from dangerous areas.

Team head Torsten Lieberknecht is having a difficult time espousing his tactics in the second division to the top-flight league, where competition is much fiercer and scoring is a once-in-a-blue-moon luxury. He needs in-depth study of his lads’ opponents in order for him to create much more effective strategies in the future.

SC Freiburg

After winning their match on week 11 for the first time this season, Freiburg was touted to begin an improved Bundesliga journey through their next encounters. Unfortunately, Stuttgart made this plan a hoax. The troupe battered Freiburg in a four-goal tourney at the Mage Solar Stadion, where the visitors picked up three innings while the home side converted only one. This confirmed that Breisgau-Brasilianer will remain in the table’s lower reaches.

Freiburg are proficient when it comes to stealing the ball from the opposition, but they are also faced with a serious scantiness of skills in aerial duels, avoidance of individual errors, and defense against long shots.

Online betting tip: With none of the sides showing significant superiority over the other and displaying almost equal levels of competence, this fixture will likely finish in a low-scoring draw.
