Bundesliga Match Preview: Borussia Monchengladbach vs. SC Freiburg

Updated: November 28, 2013

Match Date: 01 December 2013 (local)

Match Venue: Borussia-Park

Borussia Monchengladbach

Die Fohlen have maintained a rousing streak to keep themselves within the league’s top four. In their last four matches, the team bagged all the three points from every tourney, with clean sheets scored in their brawls with Hamburg 0-2 and Stuttgart 0-2. In all, Borussia Monchengladbach have already scored 30 goals, conceded 16, and collected 25 points.

The Borussia-Park has proven to be a fortress for Lucien Favre’s men, as evidenced by their perfect home record this season. They have trounced six foes in six home fixtures so far, finding the net 20 times in the process. Even the ultra-powerful Dortmund succumbed to the hosts’ pounding, having been defeated without even scoring a single goal. Eintracht Braunschweig and Eintracht Frankfurt both left the battlefield on a 4-1 downfall, while Werder Bremen, Hannover 96, and Nürnberg all conceded three goals.

SC Freiburg

Inconsistency is manageable as long as all three results are almost of the same number. Freiburg, however, have little dilemma about that. Of the 13 mixed results they earned this season, only two finished positively; five of which were stalemates while the rest ended in disappointments. That said, the team have only obtained 11 points from all their fixtures to rank them in the table’s bottom three.

Breisgau-Brasilianer have lately been improving as visitors, as seen in their successful outings to Nurnberg and Braunschweig (their only wins this season). At home, they are more inclined into drawing with or losing to their rivals. Regardless, they are still faced with a massive challenge of completely veering away from where they are right now.

Football betting tip: Against a side that have been dubbed as monsters at home, Freiburg will have immense difficulty of thrashing Borussia Monchengladbach. A seventh consecutive home victory for Die Fohlen should therefore be expected from this round. Betting for the favorites between 1.93 and 2.00 will prove productive.
