Match Date: 15 February 2014 (local)

Match Venue: Signal-Iduna-Park

Borussia Dortmund

Striving to keep up with the tournament’s increasingly frenzied pace and aiming to close their gap with Leverkusen, third placers Borussia Dortmund sent themselves to victory and earned all three points to leave their opponents Werder Bremen closer to the relegation zone and them four points nearer to the runners up.

Robert Lewandowski put Die Borussen in the lead four minutes before half-hour and Henrikh Mkhitaryan doubled it in the 41st minute. Defender Manuel Friedrich netted a third goal just after the break before Mkhitaryan served his second. Lewandowski put the scoring to 0-5 in the 85th minute and secured the victory for his team even if Bremen’s Levent Aycicek was able to fire a late consolation.

Eintracht Frankfurt

Frankfurt rose two spots higher in the table and four places farther from the drop zone after they thrashed Braunschweig at the Commerzbank-Arena on weekend. Johannes Flum boosted coach Armin Veh’s confidence to earn his fifth win in the season after the midfielder opened the scoring in the seventh minute. This was later followed by two lightning-speed goals from Alexander Meier and Stefan Aigner to seal a 3-0 score before the break. The first half goals were enough to upset their visitors, with very strong defenses from both squads dominating the second period.

Current rankings place Die Adler at number 12 with 21 points under their belt. They have so far scored five wins, six draws, and nine defeats from 20 fixtures.

Online betting tip: While Frankfurt’s latest Bundesliga effort was very impressive, they cannot completely rely on that success to topple the very in-form Borussia Dortmund. Both clubs will be able to find the net at least once, but the final tally will eventually see the hosts lifting the silverware.
