Borussia Dortmund

While not progressive, Borussia Dortmund’s decline in the rankings is gradually making it harder for them to regain the top spot (which was their position from weeks two to seven).  The side became very inconsistent in their last six Bundesliga tourneys, winning only once, drawing once as well, and succumbing to their opponents four times. Die Borussen are now out of the top three and dropping down in the table is plausible if they will not be able to turn their current form around.

Dortmund’s most recent top-tier fixture gave them their fifth loss this season, which they incurred under the hands of Hertha Berlin. There was barely a sign of the struggles to come for Dortmund as they made a good start and took the lead in the seventh minute. However, Adrian Ramos brought Berlin level with his 11th goal of the season midway through the first half and Sami Allagui scored the winner for Jos Luhukay’s men at half time. The second period saw both teams create plenty of chances but the strong defenses made it hard to convert any of those opportunities.

Augsburg have been unbeaten in their last five Bundesliga matches. They created clean sheets against Hoffenheim and Hamburg, scored a winner from Braunschweig, and forced draws with Berlin and Frankfurt. The side are currently in their best position in the table―at number eight―after earning 24 points from seven wins and three draws.

In spite of their remarkable recent performances, Fuggerstädter still need some more improvements in their defense as they have yet to cancel their negative-digit goal difference (-4). Sure, they are excellent at counter attacking and in creating scoring chances, but they are quite unequipped in terms of defending against skillful players and protecting the lead.

Football betting tip: Dortmund’s zealous will to win their next battle and redeem themselves will prevail in this match against Augsburg. The hosts will probably capitalize on their attack (especially on set pieces) and (more importantly) defense to deny their visitors from finding the net. A clean sheet should be expected from Die Borussen.
