Updated: January 30, 2014

Match Date: 01 February 2014 (local)

Match Venue: SGL Arena

Augsburg sealed their third match for 2014 with a draw 2-2 against Borussia Dortmund. This is at the back of their landslide victories in club friendlies that saw them loom high above Shanghai SIPG 1-3 and Greuther Furth 0-2. At the German top-flight league, the side have been unbeaten for their last five matches, winning three and drawing in two. They rank at number nine in the league table, having obtained 25 points in total and scored 23 goals.

Fuggerstädter are maintaining a solid capacity to fire attacks, particularly in counter attacking and creating scoring chances. However, they have a weak fortification of their defense, as evidenced by their poor performance in protecting the lead and defending against skillful players.

Werder Bremen

Werder Bremen have so far only achieved a few successes from their tourneys since the start of the season. In the side’s past 10 matches alone (which include two recent friendlies), they just won twice and were defeated five times. This poor record therefore resulted in an insecure position in the league table, pinning them at the bottom half with a form characterized by a negative goal difference.

Die Werderaner may have considerable skills in aerial duels and can manage to come back from losing positions, but they have more shortcomings that need serious focus. These include fouling in danger zones, losing control of long shots, and failing to defend set pieces.

Football betting tip: Augsburg are five points clear of Werder Bremen. The sides’ three most recent face-offs also rendered the hosts to having the upper hand, winning two of those matches. In this tourney, expect Augsburg bagging the silverware again.
